I am recruiting interested PhD students an … I am recruiting interested PhD students and postdocs to join my research group at Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) in 2020.</br></br> </br></br>Projects should largely be dictated by individual research interests, but jumping off points include:</br>* "Unpacking" the state function of incipient motion in gravel rivers</br>* Interplay of abrasion and plucking as mechanisms for bedrock incision</br>* Biological and physical controls on the evolution of rocky coasts</br>* Erosion and geomorphology in the Ozark Mountains</br></br></br>The WUSTL geomorphology lab utilizes a using a combination of approaches, including (but not limited to) physical experiments, numerical methods, environmental seismology, and other field observations. Students and postdocs are expected to be comfortable with quantitative methods of scientific inquiry.
