Feel free to contact me with any questions.</br></br></br>Thanks,<br></br>Adam </br> </br></br></br></br>The Department of Geology and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Portland State University invite applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in engineering geology starting in Fall 2023 (75% in Geology and 25% in Engineering).</br></br>The candidate’s research, applied geology experience, and/or teaching should include near-surface engineering geology of the built environment in the context of urbanization, infrastructure development, and natural hazards. The successful candidate will develop an applied and externally funded research program that engages graduate and undergraduate students. We are looking for someone who can teach engineering geology classes. Depending on background and interests, the hire may also teach structural geology, landslides and slope stability, introductory geology, environmental geology, geostatistics, and/or other upper division classes in their area of expertise.</br></br>We seek someone with a PhD from an accredited university who will complement existing strengths within these departments, and develop connections with locally based engineering and environmental firms and government agencies.
