The Department of Geography and Planning i … The Department of Geography and Planning is recruiting a Lecturer in Coastal Dynamics to contribute to teaching, research and impact. The candidates research should match strongly the coastal interests of the Environmental Change Research Group (ECRG) (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/geography-and-planning/research/environmental-change/about/). We are particularly interested in applicants with international research expertise in Coastal Processes and Change with a view to providing the evidence base for supporting decision making, including for example numerical modelling of coastal hydrodynamics and/or sediment-flow-biota interactions, assessing flood and/or erosion risk, developing and applying tools for projecting coastal change in response to environmental drivers and management decisions, use of monitoring tools and data for characterizing coastal dynamics, and the development of nature-based solutions to coastal problems.
Our research facilities support a wide range of numerical modelling, analytical, sampling and survey techniques across environmental change research (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/geography-and-planning/facilities/). We are committed to the development of cross-cutting research themes and lead in the University¿s Climate Futures and Digital Research Themes.
We are interested in interdisciplinary researchers who may connect to other research groups across the School (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/environmental-sciences/research/), and to cognate research interests in the National Oceanography Centre through our Liverpool Institute for Sustainable Coasts and Oceans (LISCO). We particularly welcome applications from scholars who identify with groups who continue to be underrepresented and who face barriers to inclusion in higher education and/or who are from Majority World or any related diaspora.
