The Department of Geology and Geophysics iThe Department of Geology and Geophysics in the College of Geosciences at Texas A&M</br>University is conducting a search to fill two tenure-track positions with 9-month academic</br>appointments at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. We seek creative faculty members</br>who will lead vibrant, cutting edge research programs that can leverage the strengths of Texas</br>A&M and the Department of Geology & Geophysics, while expanding our reach into national</br>and international-scale initiatives. This is an open-discipline search</br>and we seek applicants with backgrounds that strengthen or complement research within the</br>Department of Geology and Geophysics. This position has an anticipated start date of August 1, 2022.</br>The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an independent and</br>externally funded research program, contribute to transformative teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in departmental and college activities.</br>The Department of Geology and Geophysics is part of the College of Geosciences, which also</br>includes the Departments of Atmospheric Sciences, Geography, Oceanography, the</br>interdisciplinary Environmental Programs and Water Management and Hydrologic Sciences</br>degree programs, the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP), and other interdisciplinary centers including the Berg-Hughes Center for Petroleum and Sedimentary</br></br></br>Systems and the Center for Tectonophysics.
