Hi All, My group has an opening for a PhHi All,

My group has an opening for a PhD student (starting in August 2021) on an NSF-funded project examining the formation of autogenic waterfalls in bedrock rivers. The PhD will focus on laboratory flume experiments, but there will be opportunities for field work, digital terrain analysis, and modeling as well. Please help me spread the word and forward this to any students you know that may be interested.

For prospective students: please first read through the 'Opportunities' page on my website (http://joelscheingross.com/opportunities/) and make sure my approach to advising matches what you're looking for. If so, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail (it's best if you include a CV and a short note on your background / previous research experience) and I can happily provide more information about the project.

The project will take place at the University of Nevada Reno (UNR) and students can apply either to the Department of Geological Science and Engineering (https://www.unr.edu/geology/graduate/admissions-information applications due Jan. 1) or to the Graduate Program in Hydrologic Sciences (https://www.unr.edu/hydrologic-sciences/graduate-programs#admissions applications due Dec. 15). UNR has a strong Earth science program and Reno offers pleasant city amenities surrounded by an inspiring landscape.

Best,

Joel

Joel Scheingross (he/him)

Assistant Professor

University of Nevada Reno

Dept. of Geological Sciences and Engineering

Office: (775) 682-9839

http://joelscheingross.com
ring
Office: (775) 682-9839
http://joelscheingross.com
+
