Subduction zones are ever-evolving over a … Subduction zones are ever-evolving over a wide range of spatio-temporal scales, and there are a range of interactions between deep mantle flow and surface tectonics which are of relevance for processes from the megathrust cycle to the long-term evolution of the Earth.
