We are very happy to announce the new Mari … We are very happy to announce the new Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action - Doctoral Network INITIATE dedicate to Climate - Tectonics interactions using Big Data and Numerical models. INITIATE brings together 5 academic beneficiaries: University of Bergen, CNRS, University of Barcelona, University of Potsdam, and Helmholtz-Centre Potsdam - German Research Centre GFZ. It also includes 13 partners from the academic world (Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, IFP Energies nouvelles, University of Athens), the public sector (Institut of Cartography of Catalogna, UNESCO Geoparc Orígens, The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate), the energy industry (TotalEnergies, Repsol, Aker BP ASA, Equinor, Vulcan Energy Resources) and satellite data (GAF AG, DELPHI IMM GmbH).

We are looking for 13 doctoral candidates that will study interactions between tectonics and climate at different spatial (1 - 1000 km) and temporal (1 year -10 Ma) scales and how they control sediment distribution at the Earth's surface, landscape stability and associated geohazards, using numerical models informed by "big data".

See https://www.initiate-dn.eu/projects.html for information about the positions and how to apply.

INDIVIDUAL PhD PROJECTS:
DC1- How does anthropogenic climate change control debris flow activities in active tectonic areas?
