Models available per Working Group / Focus Research Group

On the following pages you will find information about various models which are simulating aspects of the Earth's surface dynamics. Some models are listed under more than one category as they are capable of simulating multiple environments.

CSDMS goal

A major goal of CSDMS is to offer a community-built and freely available suite of integrated, ever-improving software models and modules that predict the transport and accumulation of sediment and solutes in landscapes and sedimentary basins over a broad range of time and space scales. One of the main application products of CSDMS will be the complex models, preassembled from CSDMS components.

Submit your model

To submit your model to the list, please complete this questionnaire. Feel free to contact us or use the wiki if you want to update the information about a model that is already listed.

Choose a License for your model

It is important to choose a license for your source code, once you have decided to make your model freely available on the CSDMS website. CSDMS requires that all source code that is freely available through the CSDMS model repository is licensed. Read more about how to choose the proper license and how to integrate the license into your source code.
