Currently a second-year MS student at the … Currently a second-year MS student at the University of Kentucky (advisor Ryan Thigpen), I'm researching the fundamental geodynamic mechanisms responsible for shortening accommodation and mass redistribution in large continental collisional systems. I use numerical modeling (Elfen FE) coupled with field and laboratory (metamorphic petrology) data collected from the Himalaya. I will start a Ph.D. next year (advisor Kip Hodges) and my dissertation will be focused on combining that background in modeling thermal-rheological evolution of the subsurface lithosphere with climate-modulated erosion processes and landscape dynamics using a combination of numerical modeling, field mapping, and chronologic datasets derived from samples collected in the field. This workshop will help me explore existing and developing computational infrastructure that will assist with that research.
