Spatial extent Global, Continental, Regional-Scale, Landscape-Scale, Watershed-Scale, Reach-Scale, Patch-Scale, Grain-Scale
Model domain Terrestrial, Hydrology, Coastal, Marine, Geodynamic, Climate, Ecosystems, Carbonates and Biogenics, Cryosphere, Human dimensions, Planetary landforms
One-line model description A CSDMS data component for accessing data and metadata from a GeoTIFF file, through either a local filepath or a remote URL..
Extended model description The GeoTiff data component, pymt_geotiff, is a Python Modeling Toolkit (pymt) library for accessing data (and metadata) from a GeoTIFF file, through either a local filepath or a remote URL.

The pymt_geotiff component provides BMI-mediated access to GeoTIFF data as a service, allowing them to be coupled in pymt with other data or model components that expose a BMI.

Introduction

For more information on bmi-geotiff, including installation instructions and examples, see the documentation: https://bmi-geotiff.readthedocs.io. View the source code at https://github.com/csdms/bmi-geotiff.

Run on EarthscapeHub

bmi-geotiff is installed on EarthscapeHub, a set of JupyterHub instances managed by CSDMS.

Click this button:

Run on EarthscapeHub

to launch the bmi-geotiff Jupyter notebook tutorials on the EarthscapeHub jupyter instance.

Note

There are two conditions on running the bmi-geotiff notebooks:

  1. Access to the EarthscapeHub jupyter instance is controlled through GitHub credentials. If you don't already have access to jupyter, please see these instructions on how to to sign up and sign in.
  2. Once you've signed in to jupyter, be sure to select the "CSDMS" kernel from the JupyterLab kernel picker in order to run the notebooks.

If you encounter any problems using EarthscapeHub, please contact us through the CSDMS Help Desk.
