Ajay Limaye, recipient of the 2014 Syvitski Student Modeler award
California Institute of Technology

Ajay was selected for his submission, “A vector-based method for bankmaterial tracking in coupled models of meandering and landscape evolution.” He presented a new vector-based method to keep track continuously of eroded and accreted sediment. This new method allows feedback between bank strength and channel migration rates without discretizing the substrate properties and provides distinct advantage to previous efforts.
