The CSDMS Roadshow

Would you like to learn more about things like

  • making a model in Landlab
  • best practices in writing code for your research
  • using GitHub to store and safeguard your work

but you don't have the time or money to visit CSDMS in Boulder?

Then let CSDMS come to you with The CSDMS Roadshow!

The idea

In a Roadshow, CSDMS research software engineers (RSEs) will visit your group, lab, or department and present 1-3 days of highly interactive instruction, drawing from the CSDMS Ivy course material, which includes lessons on shell, Python, git, conda, BMI, pymt, Landlab, and best practices. The Roadshow also includes a brief overview of CSDMS, focusing on the resources we provide to students and early-career scientists.

The plan

Sample agenda.

The only equipment needed for a Roadshow is a projector and an internet connection. Participants should bring a laptop with a web browser and an internet to be able to participate interactively with the lessons.
