The idea
In a Roadshow, CSDMS research software engineers (RSEs) visit your group, lab, or department and present one to three days of highly interactive instruction. Lessons are drawn from the CSDMS Ivy course material, which includes information on shell, Python, git, conda, Landlab, BMI, pymt, and best practices in scientific programming. The Roadshow also includes a brief overview of CSDMS, focusing on the resources we provide for students and early-career scientists.
The plan
The only equipment needed for a CSDMS Roadshow:
- a classroom or conference room,
- a projector, and
- an internet connection.
Participants should bring a laptop with a web browser and an internet connection to work on the interactive Jupyter Notebook lessons. All course material is run on the OpenEarthscape JupyterHub.
A sample agenda for one to three days of instruction is given in Table 1 below.
