Metadata

Also known as
Model type Single
Model part of larger framework
Note on status model
Date note status model
Incorporated models or components:
Spatial dimensions 1D
Spatial extent Reach-Scale
Model domain Terrestrial
One-line model description Morphodynamic evolution of gravel bed rivers
Extended model description This model accounts for the bed evolution i.e. aggradation/degradation and grain size distribution of surface material in gravel bed rivers under anthropogenic changes such as dam closure and sediment augmentation. This model is developed for an alpine gravel bed river located in SE France (Buech river).

Describe processes represented by the model
Describe key physical parameters and equations [[Describe key physical parameters::Main equations used in the model:

- Normal flow Manning-Strickler relation - General conservation of mass relation - Grain size specific conservation of mass relation -Wilcock and Crowe [2003] bedload relation]]

Describe length scale and resolution constraints It's a reach scale. It is applied to 30km downstream of the Buech river. However, if dx is changed upward/downward, the time step should be adjusted.
Describe time scale and resolution constraints It is applied for 90 years. The time step is ~0.7 days.
Describe any numerical limitations and issues
