GridMET Data Component

Metadata

Also known as gridMET, gridmet_bmi
Model type Tool
Model part of larger framework
Note on status model
Date note status model
Incorporated models or components:
Spatial dimensions 2D
Spatial extent Continental, Regional-Scale, Landscape-Scale, Watershed-Scale
Model domain Hydrology, Coastal, Climate, Human dimensions
One-line model description A CSDMS data component for fetching and caching gridMET meteorological data.
Extended model description The GridMET data component is an API, CLI, and BMI for fetching and caching daily gridMET (http://www.climatologylab.org/gridmet.html) CONUS meteorological data. Variables include:
  • maximum temperature
  • minimum temperature
  • precipitation accumulation

GridMET provides BMI-mediated access to gridMET data as a service, allowing it to be coupled with other components that expose a BMI.

Keywords:

gridmet, meteorology, climate, data, temperature, precipitation,
