The Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management (ESPM) at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor nine-month faculty position in the area of Physical Environmental Science.

We seek applicants whose work addresses specific aspects of the physical environment, including (but not limited to) environmental climatology, hydrometeorology, soil science, land surface processes, geochemistry, water resources, or complex environmental systems. We encourage applicants whose research contributes to an integrated understanding of physical and ecological processes and looks at the role of the physical environment in ecosystem dynamics through field, laboratory, and/or theoretical and modeling approaches. Successful candidates for our faculty position will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to equity and inclusion through their research, teaching, and/or service.
