The Geological Sciences and Engineering department at University of Nevada Reno has just opened a search for a full-time (12-month) Teaching Assistant Professor (lecturer). The position has an expected teaching load of 4 - 6 classes per year (2 - 3 per semester), plus some service obligations. We are especially interested in a candidate that would be comfortable teaching mineralogy, as that is a clear hole that is opening up with a pending retirement in our department.
More information is in the attached flyer, and the official job ad. Review of applications begins on January 15. The job has good pay and benefits, we're a happy department, and (at least from my perspective) Reno is a great place to work and live. If you have any questions about the position, feel free to reach out to me, or any of the other search committee members listed on the flyer.
Cheers,
Joel
