Incorporated models or components:
Spatial dimensions 3D
Spatial extent Regional-Scale
Model domain Geodynamic
One-line model description DynEarthSol3D is a finite element solver that models the momentum balance and the heat transfer of elasto-visco-plastic material in the Lagrangian form.
Extended model description DynEarthSol3D (Dynamic Earth Solver in Three Dimensions) is a flexible, open-source finite element code that solves the momentum balance and the heat transfer in Lagrangian form using unstructured meshes. It can be used to study the long-term deformation of Earth's lithosphere and problems alike.
