One-line model description Utrecht Finite Volume Ice-Sheet Model
Extended model description UFEMISM (Utrecht Finite Volume Ice-Sheet Model) is a state-of-the-art finite-volume ice-sheet model developed by the Utrecht Polar System modelling group that uses a dynamic adaptive triangular mesh in both space and time to efficiently simulate the flow of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets. Version 2.0 includes more accurate Stokes flow approximations, multiple sliding laws, a distributed-memory parallelisation scheme, and automated unit testing, making it well-suited for both long palaeoglaciological simulations and large ensemble future projections.
