Describe processes represented by the model Discretizes a watershed into sub-catchments (for surface water) and a MODFLOW grid (for groundwater), and then uses these fundamental units to build input files for and execute GSFLOW and visualize it.
Describe key physical parameters and equations Topographic analysis, vector topology
Describe length scale and resolution constraints GSFLOW is intended for modeling catchments from the km-scale to the 100s-of-km scale
Describe time scale and resolution constraints Time to create the model domain increases with the number of intersections between segments, catchment sub-basins, and the MODFLOW grid.
Describe any numerical limitations and issues Catchment must be small enough that it can be approximated as being flat.
