Graduate student opportunities at the University of Delaware - Fall 2027
University of Delaware, Delaware, United States
Start reviewing process: 6 November 2026

Hi all,

I am recruiting one or more graduate students to join my research group in the Department of Earth Sciences (https://www.udel.edu/academics/colleges/ceoe/departments/es/) at the University of Delaware, starting in Fall 2027. Funding is currently available to support graduate research using physical experiments to investigate river and/or delta evolution, with potential topics including the influence of vegetation, discharge variability, and sediment supply on river and delta dynamics. Prior experience with physical experiments is not required, but experience with remote sensing, GIS, and/or coding would be particularly helpful for processing and analyzing experimental data. Other research directions may also be possible, depending on funding availability and student interests.

Interested prospective students are encouraged to email me with (1) a CV, (2) a one-paragraph description of their previous research experience and relevant skills, and (3) a one-paragraph description of their future research interests.

For those interested in other graduate opportunities at the University of Delaware, the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment (CEOE; https://www.udel.edu/academics/colleges/ceoe/) has a Graduate Programs webpage (https://www.udel.edu/academics/colleges/ceoe/prospective-students/graduate/) that provides information about funded opportunities and prospective advisors across the college. CEOE will host a virtual open house on November 2nd (https://grad-admissions.udel.edu/register/?id=bf510194-519b-404b-a225-077778d57c6e), which is a great opportunity to learn more about the graduate programs and connect with faculty.

Please feel free to share this announcement with anyone who might be interested!

Cheers,

Sinead
