From CSDMS
Denison 3 year Visiting Assistant Professor
Denison University, Ohio, United States
Start reviewing process: 4 May 2026

One of our faculty (Matt Jungers) is heading off to a stint in our Provost’s Office, so we are looking for a 3 year Visiting Assistant Professor in Earth & Environmental Sciences — specifically with expertise in geomorphology/GIS.

The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at Denison University seeks a broadly trained environmental scientist in a three-year visiting assistant professorship to teach two undergraduate lecture+lab sections per semester.

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated expertise in geomorphology with an environmental science emphasis and proven ability to teach GIS with preference to candidates who can also teach hydrology. This position will also require teaching introductory Earth or Environmental Science.

We seek an engaged scholar-teacher who can complement our departmental strengths in biogeochemistry, sedimentology/stratigraphy, structural geology, petrology and meteorology/climate. Although not required, incorporating undergraduates into research is encouraged. Funding for research and summer research students are available.
