The University of Bern is advertising 2 fully funded PhD positions (100%) within the SNSF project SouthIce. The project focuses on the Middle Pleistocene glacial history of the southern Alpine foreland and combines field geology, sedimentology, geochronology, and paleoclimate research.
The two PhD tracks focus on:
- sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleomagnetism, and cosmogenic 10Be/26Al burial dating
- luminescence dating and innovative 41Ca-based burial dating
Start date: 1 September 2026
