PhD position in the DFG-funded ECORISK programme at the University of Osnabrück

We are pleased to announce an open PhD position at the intersection of socio-hydrology, environmental change, and systemic risk in our DFG-funded Research Training Group ECORISK https://www.uni-osnabrueck.de/ecorisk .


We are looking for a motivated early-career researcher to join our team on subproject A5. This project explores how agricultural and environmental water demand can be balanced, and how socio-ecological systems respond to changing hydro-climatic and agricultural conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in geography or a related subject who are interested in socio-hydrology, ecological regime shifts, systemic risk and integrated modelling, and who wish to work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment.

The start date is 1 October 2026, the contract duration is 3 years, and the funding is: 75% TV-L E13 - Application deadline: 30 April 2026
