We are advertising several PhD positions related to the newly funded NSF project HISEAS: ‘How much and why did Ice Sheets melt during the Last Interglacial’. The project combines paleoclimate reconstruction, ice sheet modeling, and sea level analyses to understand conditions during the last interglacial (LIG) period, 125,000 years ago.
- PhD position at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks with Andy Aschwanden (aaschwanden@alaska.edu) on ice sheet and Earth system modeling.
- PhD position at the University of Florida with Oana Dumitru (odumitru@ufl.edu) on U-Th geochronology and sedimentology.
- PhD position at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University with Jerry McManus (jmcmanus@ldeo.columbia.edu) on paleoclimate/paleoceanographic reconstructions.
- PhD position at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University with Jacky Austermann (jackya@ldeo.columbia.edu) on modeling sea level and glacial isostatic adjustment.
- PhD or postdoc position at the University of Victoria, Canada, with Blake Dyer (blakedyer@uvic.ca) on sedimentology and statistical modeling.
