University of Aberdeen, , United Kingdom
Apply before: 9 April 2024

We have a postdoctoral research position available at the University of Aberdeen to work on the NERC-funded Gravel barrier resilience in a changing climate (#gravelbeach) project. This multi-institution project aims to enhance our understanding of gravel barrier systems and improve predictive capability to support more sustainable coastal management and reduce vulnerability to climate change.

The Postdoc will work on laboratory experiments to investigate swash zone sediment transport processes and morphodynamics of mixed sand-gravel beaches. The position is based in the School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen where experiments will be done in our swash facility, but there will also be an opportunity to participate in wave flume experiments with project partners at the University of Plymouth.
