University of Rennes 1, , France
Start reviewing process: 31 March 2024

We are proposing two interlinked PhD thesis within a program of Interdisciplinary Research & Innovative Solutions for Environmental transition (IRIS-E) at the University of Rennes in France. The project involves researchers in hydrology, computer science and sociology as well as stakeholders, and involves the creation of territorial digital twins to bolster territorial foresight and water governance.
  • The first PhD will address the development of a flexible and adaptable platform enabling the coupling of different hydrological models, and translating raw model results into intelligible information for stakeholders. More information are provided here : https://people.irisa.fr/Benoit.Combemale/job/phd-irise/. Please send your CV, motivation letter, and grades of your bachelor and master with the diplomas to Benoit Combemale and Johann Bourcier.
  • The second PhD consists in transforming such digital twins as mediating objects in participatory water management Approaches and addresses the challenge of articulating complexity and uncertainty. For more information please contact laurent.longuevergne@univ-rennes1.fr

Please share this information with any potentially interested researchers within your network. Thank you!
