Tenure Track Position in Water Resources and GIS
Indiana University, Indiana, United States
Apply before: 1 November 2023

The Department of Geography (https://geography.indiana.edu/) at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin on August 1st, 2024. We encourage applications from candidates that will complement the wide range of water-resources and geographic information science (GIS) expertise in the department and across the Indiana University system. These areas currently include, among others, watershed hydrology at many scales, impacts of climate change, land-atmosphere interactions, ecohydrology, and critical physical geography. We are seeking a candidate with formal training in both water resources and GIS who integrates spatial analysis and spatial statistics into their research and teaching. The ideal applicant will have a deep understanding of a wide range of topics in water resources and GIS, ensuring that they can impart core water-resource and GIS concepts to their students. This interdisciplinary approach will prepare our students with a comprehensive understanding of GIS techniques in water resources. It is also expected that the candidate will assist in creating a new Master’s degree in GIS and Remote Sensing.
