I am recruiting 2 Ph.D. students and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (Horn Point Laboratory) to work on Nature-based solutions.

Following more details on the positions (William Nardin, PI):

  • Postdoctoral Research Associate (starting ASAP in fall 2023 or winter 2024);
  • Both Ph.D. students will start in the fall of 2024.

Project 1): the postdoc and a Ph.D. student will both contribute to a study of oyster integration in coastal infrastructures involving modeling, fieldwork, and laboratory experiments.

Project 2): the second Ph.D. student will work on wetlands design and monitoring through numerical modeling and field measurements.

Both projects are funded by FEMA and USACE.

Postdoc and student candidates with modeling (especially, Delft3D, SWAN, and X-Beach model) and field experience are encouraged to apply.

MS and drone flight experience preferred, but not required. Students from underserved communities are highly encouraged to apply.
