PhD Position in Deep Learning for Urban Water Systems

The Water and Environmental Systems Analysis Lab (WESA) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is seeking a doctoral student to work on the analysis of urban water infrastructure systems in coastal regions. The NSF-funded research project aims to better understand the resilience of urban water systems through the integration of deep learning and hydrological-hydraulic modeling with the consideration of climate change, hazard mitigation, and environmental sustainability. Within the project framework, the specific research topics of this Ph.D. position will be discussed and determined. For details about the research group, please visit wesa.tamucc.edu.

Required qualification:

  • MS degree in civil and environmental engineering, computer science, environmental science, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications (experience with any of the following topics):

  • Watershed hydrological or water quality analysis
  • Municipal water supply, wastewater, or stormwater systems
  • Water system simulations (using SWMM, EPANET, SewerGEMS, or similar models)
  • Machine learning or artificial intelligence
