Position Title: M.S./Ph.D. Student/s in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering

Location: South Dakota State University, USA
Starting Date: August 2023 (Fall 2023)/January 2024 (Spring 2024)
Duration: Three years

My lab HydroSolve is seeking a highly motivated graduate student/s to develop an intelligent system to improve our understanding, prediction, and management of water resources in South Dakota.


Job Description:
The selected candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, developing and implementing a conjunction of machine-learning techniques and process-based modeling like SWAT to generate predictive models. The insights from this research will be leveraged to provide informed decision support for optimal site selection for additional measurements and to guide the implementation of optimal protection programs.

Additionally, the candidate will work towards integrating the ecological and economic interests of society, water quantity and quality, and agriculture through the development and use of smart software. The work done here will contribute to the rise of smart environmental technologies for broader application.


Funding:
The successful candidate will receive a stipend, tuition waiver, travel allowance for attending relevant conferences, and access to professional development activities.


Eligibility Criteria:

  1. An M.S./Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  2. strong background in programming and the application of artificial intelligence for environmental protection is essential.
