[[JOB bodytext::The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta is inviting applications for two fully-funded PhD positions in Computational Hydrology.


What you will do: The focus of these positions is designing various hydrologic modeling and application tools to improve hydrologic forecasting and impact assessment under climate change. Students can work on many different aspects of hydrologic sciences, including but not limited to uncertainty quantification, spatial discretization, parameter estimation, streamflow forecasting, and climate change impact assessment. The specific research focus will be tailored to suit the candidate’s skills and career interests.

Desired qualifications: Students have a recent Master degree in hydrology, civil engineering, earth science, or a closely related field. Students with a background in hydrologic modeling, machine learning, software development, or high-performance computing are encouraged to apply.
