PostDoc Fellowships Available at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), North Carolina, United States
Apply before: 1 November 2019

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte Multicultural Postdoctoral Fellowship is pleased to announce a Program for the appointment of two multicultural postdoctoral researchers for a period of two years. https://diversitypostdoc.uncc.edu/

The purpose of the Program is to develop scholars from underrepresented groups for possible tenure track appointments at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

I welcome applicants to propose to work with my research group under either of two broad categories of research:

  1. Mechanical weathering and landscape evolution – work might include: conducting field work to characterize fractures in diverse, natural settings; building numerical models to link environmental stresses with subcritical cracking and erosion; completing 3D visualization and spatial-statistical analyses of acoustic emission recordings of real-time fracture; and/or performing laboratory mechanical testing and microscopic analyses for rock mechanical and/or mineralogical properties.
  2. Critical Zone Science – defined at its broadest. UNC Charlotte has access to the Redlair Observatory – a 1200 acre site for critical zone research within a 30 minute drive of Campus www.redlair.org

Deadline to Apply is November 1 - https://diversitypostdoc.uncc.edu/ Feel free to contact me to discuss possible avenues of proposed work.
