PhD Position in Hydrology and Water Resource Engineering

[[JOB bodytext::The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University is seeking a PhD student to work on large-scale hydrological modeling considering the effects of climate variability and human water use under the supervision of Dr. Yadu Pokhrel (https://water.egr.msu.edu/). Selected student will work as a research assistant on a project funded by the National Science Foundation, and will receive tuition support, stipend, and health benefits.


Prospective students should have an undergraduate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a closely related field, and a masters degree in the area of hydrology and water resources, atmospheric science, Earth and environmental science, or a related field.


Ideal candidates are expected to have strong background in hydrology and computational modeling and an expertise in data analysis and computer programming using Fortran, Python or similar programming languages. GRE score is required of all applicants and TOEFL/IELTS is required for international students if English is not their native language.
