Postdoc opportunity at the Czech Academy of Sciences

We invite applicants for a 2-year postdoc based at the Geophysical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague.

These 1-2 y postdocs are aimed at newly graduated folks (<2 y since PhD conferral) and offer the opportunity to join a growing group of researchers working on glacial, fluvial and Quaternary problems. Our current interests include:

  • the timing of the early Eurasian ice sheets
  • pre-LGM glaciations in Yakutia
  • geodynamic drivers of surface processes in central Oz
  • development of granite domes in the eastern Sahara
  • evolution of mountain plateaus in the Sichuan/Yunnan/Pamir regions
  • hominins in the Arabian peninsula
  • the Early Anthropocene in the Mediterranean world.

We will support applications on any of those topics listed, or anything else that sounds interesting. The date for applications is mid-September 2021 but I encourage you to contact me well before that date:
