PhD vacancy Narratives of past and future drought-to-flood events
IVM – VU Amsterdam, , Netherlands
Apply before: 6 April 2021

We are happy to announce that at IVM – VU Amsterdam we have a PhD vacancy related to the new EU-funded PerfectSTORM project. In the PerfectSTORM project (‘STOrylines of futuRe extreMes’ https://hydrologicalextremes.org/2020/12/13/erc-starting-grant-for-anne-van-loon/), an interdisciplinary team will study the hydrosocial processes behind drought-to-flood events to provide the understanding needed to prevent major disasters in the future. We will use a mixed-methods approach based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative storylines, using text analysis, innovative interactive visualisation and modelling.

We are now looking for a social scientist / human geographer with expertise in participatory approaches, narrative interviews, qualitative data analysis and an interest in environmental management and droughts / floods. Please find more information and how to apply on the VU website. The deadline is 6 April 2021.

Please share with potential candidates.

Thanks,
