A PhD position in ice sheet modeling and data assimilation is available in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University. The ideal student will have a strong background in mathematics, physics, and computer programming, and a deep interest in glaciology and geophysics. The PhD student will funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation’s Antarctic Glaciology program. Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, TN, also provides generous benefits, financial awards, travel allowances, and teaching assistantships for professional development.
