Post-doctoral research in landscape evolution modelling

We are looking for a motivated post-doctoral researcher to develop a 3-D landscape evolution model to explore how groundwater seepage can be a significant geomorphic agent offshore.


The successful candidate:

  • will work in close co-operation with geologists, geophysicists and hydrogeologists who are developing a 3D continental margin evolution model
  • should be self-motivated, organised, able to work independently and in line with established deadlines, and have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • will be expected to produce work of publishable quality for high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.


The position is available for a period of 1 year.

The required qualifications include:

  1. A PhD in numerical geology, computational sciences, physics, engineering or a related field of research;
  2. Experience in landscape evolution modelling;
  3. Be proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g., Fortran, Python, Matlab).
