Utah State University's Geoscience Department seeks applicants for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in geology at the USU Eastern campus in Price, UT, with a start date of August 1, 2020. We seek candidates who conduct innovative teaching at the introductory level and geoscience research in areas that may include but is not limited to: geoscience education, sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology, paleoecology, surface processes, and economic geology.


Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding potential for excellence in teaching through multiple delivery modes to statewide students, as well as the potential for a research program that complements our Department’s current strengths, takes advantage of the position location in central Utah, and involves undergraduate and graduate students. The Department of Geosciences is especially interested in candidates committed to fostering inclusive learning environments as well as to promoting an environment of diversity and excellence through their teaching, research, and service.
