Potential project research topic areas include but are not limited to:
- subsurface water storage dynamics in relation to bedrock weathering patterns
- understanding how subsurface water storage mediates forest sensitivity to drought
- use of stable isotopes in water to track plant water sources, runoff pathways, and catchment transit times
Field work will be pursued at sites in the Northern California Coast Range and/or British Columbia. Experience coding and a background in hydrology, geomorphology, plant ecophysiology, critical zone science or a related field is preferable.
