Idaho Power is hiring an Engineering Intern to work within the River Engineering Group in summer 2020. The Intern will primarily assist the group in data collection and analysis of river and reservoir hydraulics and processes primarily on the Snake River working around the company’s hydropower dams. The work will include hydraulic modeling of the river and reservoirs, collecting bathymetric, topographic, substrate, river discharge and velocity data, as well as monitoring sediment processes within the river system. This information will be used to evaluate flow characteristics, and the erosion and deposition of sediment within the river and reservoirs and potential construction projects.
It most likely includes an all-expenses paid trip to Hells Canyon where much of our fieldwork takes place. Come visit the deepest gorge in North America and witness the majesty of the longest running FERC dam relicensing in history!
