Overall, I am looking for someone with research interests on water/sediment transport in rivers across any spatial scale using field measurements and mathematical models. Ideally, the PhD student would have a strong background in math (such as an engineering student; or from geology, geography, or environmental sciences, while also supplementing with math classes), experience programming in any language, and experience conducting field work.
For more information, please see my website:

and I strongly encourage potential candidates to contact me to directly at jczuba@vt.edu before applying to discuss your background, fit, and potential research projects available.
Thank you,
Jon
