From CSDMS
PhD opportunity on river processes
Virginia Tech, Virginia, United States
Start reviewing process: 15 December 2019

I am recruiting 1 PhD student for Fall 2020 to join my research group in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering (with a focus on Watershed Engineering) at Virginia Tech. The PhD student would join my research group of currently 2 PhD, 1 MS, and several undergraduate students. The PhD position is fully funded and supported by one or a combination of projects.

Overall, I am looking for someone with research interests on water/sediment transport in rivers across any spatial scale using field measurements and mathematical models. Ideally, the PhD student would have a strong background in math (such as an engineering student; or from geology, geography, or environmental sciences, while also supplementing with math classes), experience programming in any language, and experience conducting field work.
