Incorporated models or components:
Spatial dimensions 1D
Spatial extent Landscape-Scale
Model domain Coastal, Ecosystems
One-line model description Geomorphic and carbon evolution of a bay-marsh-forest coastal transect
Extended model description A transect spanning three coastal ecosystems (bay-marsh-forest) evolves in yearly timesteps to show the evolution of the system. Geomorphic and carbon cycling processes allow for the exchange of material between the adjacent ecosystems. Each landscape unit is on the order of kilometers. Main geomorphic processes are featured in Kirwan et al. 2016 in GRL, and carbon processes track allochthonous and autocthonous carbon with time and depth.

Describe processes represented by the model Bay, marsh, and forest evolution on a coastline. Simulates marsh edge erosion, bay depth changes with wind waves, and marsh migration into coastal forests, and the carbon processes associated with these changes.
Describe key physical parameters and equations
Describe length scale and resolution constraints Transect model with landscape of ~10 km (5 km bay, 1 km marsh, and 4 km forest in base version), 1 m grid scale horizontally.
Describe time scale and resolution constraints 1 year time steps, good results up to 200-300 years
Describe any numerical limitations and issues
