Postdoctoral Researcher in Hydrological Modelling

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Hydrological Modelling to join the EcoHydroInformatics Reserch group at the University of Galway, Ireland. This position is funded by Met Éireann and is available immediately. The currently available funding will support a full-time 1-year (12 month) Postdoctoral position, with potential for an extension, subject to funding.


Job Description:
The successful candidate will be based at the University of Galway and contribute towards a recently awarded project in the field of flood modelling.

Duties:

  • Conduct research (both independently and as part of a team) in the area of hydrological modelling of floods.
  • Perform statistical analysis of extreme events.
  • Develop hydrological modelling-based forecasting tools.
  • Produce output maps in GIS environment.
  • Contribute to the writing of scientific papers and reports for international journals and progress reporting to other researchers and industry partners.


Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate salary scale €46,305 - €59,063 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
