Step 1: Become a CSDMS member

You need to become a CSDMS member. Here you can join: [[1]]

Step 2: Request a HPCC account

The University of Colorado requires that you have a special user account to log on to the CSDMS HPCC. It is free for CSDMS members with modeling needs, but it does need to be specially setup for you (this takes a few days). To request an account sign up here.

Step 3: Install VPN

You will need a secure connection to the computer network of the University of Colorado. For this a VPN should be setup on your computer, this requires downloading CU's VPN software. Only after starting the VPN, the CMT can connect to the CSDMS supercomputer. Get CU VPN software here: http://www.colorado.edu/its/vpn/

Step 4: Download the CMT software

Go on to download the CMT!

Optional: fill in a HPCC project page

Whereas the other listed steps are immediate needs, this is a request. CSDMS tries to document for what reasons everyone uses our high performance computing cluster. If you just want to do a couple of runs you do not have to fill a full project description in, but if you are using CMT as a more significant part of your research project or class, [please fill in a project page here].
