Research activity description

Changes in climate and socio-economic systems pose unprecedented challenges in the understanding of hydrological risks, such as floods and droughts, and of societal responses in terms of adaptation and resilience. Synergy among emergent (AI, big data-analytics) and more consolidated techniques (direct and EO observation, physically based modeling) are required to address such challenges. The research will focus on the integration of distributed hydrologic modeling and resilience dynamics system modeling to assimilate traditional and new sources of data with the aid of AI-based data assimilation techniques
