Surface Process Faculty Position
California State University Monterey Bay, California, United States
Start reviewing process: 11 February 2022

Five million tourists visit Monterey Bay each year because it is an incredible place to visit! Join the folks who call it "home."

The Department of Applied Environmental Science at California State University Monterey Bay invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Environmental Science at the assistant professor rank to begin in Fall 2022. We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research in Earth surface processes, such as (but not limited to) fluvial geomorphology, stream hydrology, and wildfire-mediated hillslope dynamics.

Apply if your applied research could be described as Watershed Science!

CSUMB abuts 15,000 acres of oak woodland of the Fort Ord National Monument and is less than a mile from pristine beaches of Monterey Bay. A few miles south are Carmel and the wild beauty of the tectonically active Big Sur coast. A few miles northeast are the Salinas Valley and San Andreas Fault. The campus has fewer than 8,000 students. It is a great place to teach, do local research, and recreate.

Priority screening will begin early in 2022
