|CSDMS meeting abstract presentation=Software sustainability - the ability for software to continue to function - and the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) are important features of software used in research. But how do they apply to research into environmental extremes? In this presentation, I will summarise the work of the Software Sustainability Institute, including my work on the FAIR principles for research software, and what we understand about the challenges and benefits of applying software sustainability and FAIR to this area.
