I am interested in expanding on that work to consider feedbacks between tectonic processes and surface processes in extensional systems, particularly as regards uplift, exhumation, and formation and filling of sedimentary basins. The workshop is timely for me, as recent growth in my department has added strengths in quantitative geomorphology and surface processes that create new opportunities for research and graduate teaching at CSU. Arrival of these new faculty creates new opportunities for collaborative research and graduate teaching. I hope to use what I learn from this workshop to establish a foundation for these future collaborations.
